Each year nursing applications are accepted from January to March 1st. Applications are available during that time period on this website, See Applications or stop in the Department of Nursing office in the Science/Nursing Building, Room 107.Is there a waiting list for the nursing program?
No, there is no waiting list for our program. Applicants are invited to submit a new application every year.When will the next class of nursing students be admitted?
A new class of nursing students will be admitted each academic year. One half of the accepted students will begin nursing courses in fall and the other half will beginning nursing courses in the spring.How many students will be admitted into the nursing program each year?
The number of applicants accepted into the nursing program is dependent on Idaho State funding and is subject to change depending on funding levels each year.Are any of the required courses available on the internet?
Boise State University offers a wide variety of alternative delivery methods, which does include internet courses. The Department of Nursing will continue to develop courses using new and innovative approaches that are appropriate for course content and meets the needs of the student. Yes, each year a limited number of students complete the first year of the nursing courses in the summer Expedited Option. This limited number of students must have already completed all the required support courses for the first year of the nursing program and do very well on the Nursing COMPASS Test for admission. For more information about the expedited option please consult a pre-nursing advisor by calling (208) 426-4143.Are nursing courses offered in the summer?
Only students who have been accepted into the Expedited Option will have nursing courses in the summer. However, many of the general support courses and core courses (English, Math, Anatomy and Physiology, etc.) are offered during the summer. See Curriculum (PDF).Can I enter and complete the undergraduate nursing program on a part-time basis?
The suggested curriculum is fulltime (16-17 credits per semester). If you complete the required support and core courses prior to entering the nursing program your credit load will be reduced. Yes, our Associate and Bachelor of Science programs are accredited by the National League of Nursing and Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006. All educational options are approved by the Idaho State Board of Nursing.What will a nursing education cost?
Nursing fees will include: tuition, books, lab fees, a uniform, online fees and equipment fees. Books per semester will average approximately $500. For current Boise State tuition and fee information, visit the University Admissions site.Are scholarships and financial aid available?
Financial aid and general scholarships are available through the financial aid office. Once a student has been accepted and enrolled in the nursing program, they are eligible to apply for additional nursing scholarships.Where is the Department of Nursing located?

Yes, you will have the opportunity to join the Student Nurses Association as well as many other student organizations available at Boise State University.
