Undergraduate Program
Bachelor of Science
The undergraduate nursing curriculum is based on three key concepts: community-based nursing, leadership and professional values. Our curriculum has a strong emphasis on wellness, health promotion, disease prevention and treatment, and the promotion of culturally competent nursing care.
The undergraduate nursing curriculum is spread over eight semesters. There are no prerequisite courses to complete before applying to nursing. The nursing application process is competitive. The application deadline each year is March 1st. Students must also apply to enroll in Boise State University. Students who would like to enroll and take courses at Boise State University before being admitted to nursing may select nursing support courses and core courses listed on the top half of the curriculum overview (see below -Information on the Bachelor of Science Degree). The Nursing courses on the Curriculum Overview are sequential and need to be taken each semester in the order they are listed.
Advanced placement opportunities are available for currently licensed practical and registered nurses to continue their nursing education.
